Join us for this 60th anniversary of the uprising against Chinese Communist takeover of Tibet, that ended with the occupation of this independent country, the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Tibetans (1.5 million over the next decades), and the exile of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to India.
In these 60 years the United States has been an ardent supporter of the rights of the Tibetan people and the Central Tibetan Administration. DGCEC’s gathering is part of the yearlong gratitude campaign offered by the Central Tibetan Administration.
His Holiness said that the US “has been there for us and supported our just cause clearly right from the start.” In this short video message he reminisces over the various American political figures he has met throughout his life, adding that, “the Tibetan people will never forget their kindness.”
