Honoring the Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi
Dedicating the Efforts of 12 Days Toward Peace 2022
Sunday, October 2, 3:00 – 4:00pm at DGCEC In-Person with Masks
Compassion, that desire to take action to end the suffering of another, is rooted in non-harm/nonviolence. When we want happiness for another, based on understanding our own desire to avoid suffering, we put aside all thoughts of harm. We individuals, banded together, provide the ingredients for growing a nonviolent compassionate city by meeting the issues around violence in whatever way we have the gifts or will to use.
During this event commemorating International Day of Nonviolence, we will mark Gandhi’s birthday, share a candle lighting ceremony, take a personal pledge of nonviolence, and conclude with a dedication prayer.
We may feel small, but our efforts can transform both our own hearts and those around us. Together we are growing nonviolence in our city!
All are welcome. No registration is required.
This event is the conclusion and dedication of DGCEC’s 8th Annual TWELVE DAYS TOWARD PEACE 2022 which began on Wednesday, September 21 on International Day of Peace. During this time we offered many events and opportunities to expand one’s experience and practice of nonviolence. Learn more by visiting DrepungGomangUSA.org or Facebook.com/12DaysTowardPeace.
