Sunday, December 17, 2:00 – 3:30pm, at DGCEC

Traditional mani stones can be any size, which may be painted or carved near sacred places. The large image above shows prayer or “mani stones” at Drepung Gomang Monastery.  They are painted with the Compassion Buddha mantra “Om mani padme hum," which is frequently repeated asking for the qualities of wisdom, compassion, and a good heart. Learn how these prayer stones are a physical representation of positive conditions such as long life, health and success.

Adults may be most comfortable in this workshop in which the Drepung Gomang Sacred Arts Tour monks will teach participants how to create images on flat stones and decorate them with sacred mantras, and to shape flowers, animals and symbols from "butter" clay.

Stay after for the Opening Ceremony of the Interfaith World Peace Sand Mandala at 4pm.

$20 or $30 per person includes supplies. Enrollment limited to 20.

Please register HERE or call 502-614-5616.

Your kind offering helps provide food, housing, medical needs, and education for the monks
