Special Dharma Teaching

Friday, November 8 – Sunday, November 10, Eastern Time, In-Person or via Zoom

We are honored to welcome Gerardo Abboud for this teaching on the key points of Dzogchen Trekchod Practice. This short text by Mipham Rinpoche explains the way to approach the nature of mind through the practice of trekchod, or "cutting through." In terms of ground, path, and fruition, what is applied on the path is the system of view, meditation, conduct, and result, and the discussion will focus on the key points pertaining to each of these aspects of the practice. The teaching will be over four sessions: Friday, 6-8pm; Saturday, 10am-12pm and 2-4pm; Sunday, 10am-12pm.

Cost on a Sliding Scale - Please share what you are able to keep this teaching accessible to all:  $85, $115, $145; Patron $250; DGCEC registered members - $65.  Some partial scholarships are available – please contact us at DrepungGomangCompassion@gmail.com. Register HERE or call 502-614-5616.

Gerardo Abboud:  Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, into a Christian family, Gerardo Abboud was educated as an engineer and worked as a financial analyst at Ford before he made a dramatic change in his life.  In the 1970s he traveled to India and resided there and in Nepal for 14 years as a student of Buddhism and of the Tibetan language.  His desire was to leave behind the “life of promotions, high salaries, and consumerism” in order to discover the richness within himself.  Back in Argentina in 1986, Abboud was nominated president of the Dongyuling Center, which offers free teachings in Buddhist theory and practice.  He has served as the Dalai Lama’s interpreter in Latin America since 1992.
