Nonviolence 101: A Teach-In and Introduction with Rivera Sun

Saturday, November 2, 1:30 - 3:00pm ET, via Zoom

Join us for an interactive webinar with nonviolence educator and prize winning author, Rivera Sun. In this virtual workshop you’ll learn about the fundamental concepts of nonviolence, providing an alternative to the violence our society faces - through lively discussion, participant comments, and questions. We’ll share stories, videos, and practical skills that you can apply in your own life.

Nonviolence is … a way of life, a philosophy, a set of practices, and a toolbox for making change. It can help you deal with conflicts at home, school, or work. It can be used to transform society. Nonviolence is a BIG idea – and this teach-in is a chance to explore it a little. We’ll discuss nonviolence towards ourselves, others, and our communities, covering topics such as: understanding the spectrum of violence and nonviolence, self-care practices, skills for managing conflict, nonviolent solutions to systemic violence, techniques for de-escalation and violence interruption.
