Join us for our third annual
Trek for Tibet
Sunday, March 8, 2:00 - 4:00pm
Register for this 5K walk to raise awareness about human rights abuses inside Tibet.
Occupied by Communist China since 1959, Tibet has been given a score of 0 of 100 points regarding freedom by Freedom House. Over 700 Tibetan are political prisoners, imprisoned for standing for basic human rights, for caring for the Tibetan lands, for opposing the wanton destruction of schools and temples, for forcing children into boarding schools where they are stripped of their culture and language, or for having a photo of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Register to be part of this walk! Donation Sliding Scale: $10, $20, or $50 (and receive a Free Tibet bag). Children 13 and under are free. Tibetan Freedom Bracelet and information for all walkers.
On March 8, Sign In between 1:30 and 2:00pm at DGCEC, 411 N Hubbards Lane, Louisville, KY 40207. The walk begins after opening words, and will continue through the neighborhood and back to DGCEC.
