3 Session Book Discussion of "Nonviolent: A Memoir of Resistance, Agitation, and Love" by Rev. James Lawson, Jr. and Emily Yellin

facilitated by Terry Cozad Taylor and Jeremy Jackson

3 Sundays, 2:00 – 3:00pm, September 20, 27 and October 4, at Chestnut Street Family YMCA, 930 W. Chestnut Street, Louisville, KY 40203

You are invited to join a discussion of the compelling memoir of the man who taught Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other Civil Rights leaders how to use nonviolent direct action to confront and overcome racism, injustice, and violence.

Learn how Rev. Lawson became a practitioner of nonviolence. Explore stories of many successful nonviolent actions. Consider how we can employ nonviolence to address problems and conflicts.

We are pleased that Nonviolent co-author Emily Yellin will join us for one of the sessions.

These discussions are co-hosted by Nonviolent Louisville, Drepung Gomang Center for Engaging Compassion, and Chestnut Street Family YMCA.  This event is free, but registration is strongly encouraged at DrepungGomangUSA.org or by calling 502-614-5616.

Copies of Nonviolent: A Memoir of Resistance, Agitation, and Love, can be purchased at a 20% discount at Carmichaels Bookstores for those who mention the name of any of the three co-hosts.
